Great news! Two new funded projects for ACT
17th March 2023
We've had confirmation of funding for another five years to support some of our core costs, which is fantastic. Alongside this we will work on a new initiative about social value for rural communities. We're also part of a national pilot, with colleagues from Northumberland and Durham, to help community buildings plan for sustainability through capital improvements.
ACT has been supported by the National Lottery Community Fund for the last four years. This core funding has now been renewed for another five years, sustains our ability to support communities as they:
- Plan for the future
- Develop projects
- Work with others
- Influence and change policy
The national pilot partnership project builds on our three years’ experience of supporting community buildings to access capital grant from the Community Fund, for renovations which meet community need and longer-term sustainability objectives. There will be £300,000 for Cumbrian community building capital projects and for Community Building Surveys, alongside funds for ACT’s support work.
Both these projects will start in April and we will provide more information then.
Thank you Lottery players and to the Community Fund for helping to sustain our support for community development in rural communities across Cumbria.
