Do you want to join a focus group on travel and transport in the Lake District for locals and visitors?
ACTion with Communities in Cumbria is working with the Lake District National Park Partnership (LDNPP) to ask a wide range of people about their views on transport in the Lake District and especially people's appetite for change. We are starting from the perspective that change is necessary, due to - frustrations of visitors and locals, carrying capacity of the services, and the longer-term impact on the environment that visitors – both local and wider come to see. But we recognise that change will be gradual due to resources and therefore needs a longer-term vision.
This research forms part of a wider research programme, the results of which will be used to inform Lake District National Park Partnership policy development on sustainable travel and transport. We have recently conducted 300 interviews on the street and had over a 1,000 response to an online survey. Have your say by participating in one of the focus groups.
We have three focus groups available online via zoom on the:
Tuesday 18th July 10.30am – 11.30am
Thursday 20th July 4.30pm – 5.30pm
Monday 24th July 7.00 – 8.00 pm.
The focus group agenda will be approx. as follows:
- Introductions and summary of the work so far – 10 mins
- 4 questions with small group discussion and chat summaries – 40 mins
- Next steps and closing with a poll. – 10 mins
There are limited spaces available in order to allow for quality discussion.
The results of the research will be shared in an online event in the Autumn
