ACT’s 75th AGM and Youth Voice Celebration Event
23rd October 2024
ACT’s 75th AGM and Youth Voice celebration was held recently, almost 75 years to the day that we first started. You can view our annual review for 2023 – 2224, reporting some of the work we have been involved in here. Its an interesting, short video, capturing some of ACT’s impact. Any feedback you may have on this would be very welcome.
In commemoration of our 75th year we had a song commissioned. It celebrates some of the activity communities have been involved in over the years – you can hear that here 'This Land Is Your Land':
At the AGM we celebrated some work we have been doing on hearing young people’s voices about policy issues with: Cumbria Youth Alliance, John Ruskin School Council, West Cumbria Rivers Trust Youth Council, Cumbria Young Farmers and the Lake District National Park Partnership. We asked the three young people’s groups to tell us their views on the current Lake District National Park Partnership Management Plan. We provided some resources through the Collaboration Hub, which is funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, so the groups could express their views creatively. Take a look at the three creative videos, and a reflection from the Partnership on the issues raised here.
ACT is committed to hearing and sharing community voices. If you have any ideas for how we can work towards ‘no one being disadvantaged by where they live’ in Cumbria, then please do get in touch.
