Description of Hall and village: Colby is a small village of approx 60 houses with a mixture of farms and residential houses. Colby is situated 1 1/2 miles outside of Appleby. The Village Hall was previously a school room and was aquired by the villagers about 15 years ago. Money was raised and the school room was re-erected in the village and and extended to include kitchen, toilets and bar. It is well used by the villagers for various activities and events to raise money for the upkeep of the hall.
