Description of Hall and village: The Hall started as the local school until a new infant's school was built at the top of the village. The Hall then became the village Reading Room with newspapers and a billiard table, and a general meeting place for local social events and dinners. However the wooden Women's Institute hut next door burnt down, and the Hall was extended to double the length, and a local patron gave the hall a clock in the clock tower. The Hall was shared with the WI until the latter was disbanded, and is a charitable trust. It has a committee room upstairs, a new kitchen, a lavatory for the disabled, overhead heating and a moveable stage.
