Description of Hall and village: The Hall was built in 1845 and is situated on the tree lined beck side in the centre of the village; it is a substantial sandstone building in a very pleasant setting. Warcop is an ancient historic village nestling in the valley of the River Eden. The bridge of the Eden is the oldest of its type in Cumbria and is a sandstone copy of the original wooden construction. The ancient parish church of St Columba was initiated by the vikings over one thousand years ago. The village is also served by a very attractive Methodist chapel.
