Description of Hall and village: Skirwith Village Hall was built in1929. It is a single storey building of brick construction situated in the centre of the village opposite the village green. It comprises a large hall marked out as a badminton court , a kitchen with bar to a smaller meeting or supper room. It has full disabled access, though it is a short distance from the road via a short steep slope. Skirwith is a small village on the east fellside built around a large village green with a beck flowing through it. It is 8 miles from Penrith and just 2 miles from the foot of Cross Fell, the highest point of the Pennines. Sadly there is no longer a pub, shop or school.
