Description of Hall and village: Morland is an attractive small village in the Eden Valley, easily approached from Penrith, the A6 and the A66. It features a beautiful church with a Saxon tower, pub, café/restaurant, Travelling2 travel clothing shop and primary school. Morland Beck runs prettily through the village. The Village Hall is situated besides the primary school on the road towards Newby and Shap (High Street). It has its own large car park (capacity 20 cars) and tennis court. Morland & Newby Village Hall was built in 1949 and completely refurbished in 2005. The main Hall is light and spacious, with a fair sized stage. There is also a well equipped kitchen, with serving hatch to the main hall, and a carpeted 'Supper Room' suitable for smaller meetings. The Hall is very well used by a wide range of local community groups, but we strongly welcome bookings from groups and private individuals from elsewhere.
