Description of Hall and village: The Hall and Reading Room was built by subscription in 1937. Of timber construction, the Hall is sited at the southern enterance to the village on the fellside road, which runs from Lazonby to Brampton. The dark wood panelled hall features a wooden varnished floor suitable for dances, and 'merry' activities. We also have coal fires. The village of Croglin is a largely unspoilt viking village of 40+ houses mostly along a road off the main road and heading towards the foot of the Pennines. The village nestles under the foothills of the Pennines on the Eastern side of the county on the road from Lazonby to Brampton.
