ACT Projects and Partnerships

In addition to working with Community Led Planning groups across the county and supporting committees and managers of Community Assets, ACT works on a diverse range of projects often in partnership with public sector and other third sector organisations.

These are a few of projects we are currently working on:

  • BASIS - Developing Youth and Rural Organisations in Cumbria
  • Big Society - learning from the only rural Big Society Vanguard in the Eden Valley
  • Community Exchanges - reducing rural isolation
  • Energy Best Deal - workshops for community groups and front line staff / volunteers
  • FREE (Future of Rural Energy in Europe - England)
  • Northwest Upland Farming Forum - advocacy and learning for the uplands
  • Resilience Planning - ensuring that communities are prepared for emergencies as well as long term sustainability
  • Tebay and Orton Local Distinctiveness - working with the community to celebrate the distinctive cultural heritage of the area
  • Whole Valley Planning - working with the community and multiple agencies to address priorities across common geographical areas
