ACTion with Communities in Cumbria has over sixty years experience in supporting successful action by Cumbria's people and the communities in which they live.
ACT’s vision is to “be the lead agency for empowering the people of Cumbria through community-led action, and a key champion on rural issues.”
ACT uses the skills of its staff and its independent charitable status to provide services to a diverse range of users including individuals, community groups, small business and the public sector. Follow the links below to find out more about the solutions that we can offer you.
- Projects and Partnerships - unlocking the potential of Cumbria's people and communities to address their problems and meet their needs
- Community Voice - working to make sure that the problems and needs of Cumbria's communities are widely considered and effectively addressed
- Enterprise solutions - collaborating with partners to maximise community and small business success
- Community Led Planning - a tried and tested approach that helps local people to explore their needs, set priorities and plan actions. ACT uses experienced staff and tools developed from best practice to help communities work through the process and then to realise their aspirations.
- Community Assets - Village Halls and other community owned assets are the very heart of communities. ACT supports the volunteers who manage these facilities through the Community Asset Advice Service.
- Cumbria Rural Forum - provides organisations and individuals with a place to come together and discuss issues of concern to rural life.
