ACTion with Communities in Cumbria (ACT) has issued a new report to improve the understanding of key issues affecting Cumbria’s rural residents. The State of Rural Cumbria Report uses up to date statistical data, including the 2011 Census, to explore issues such as: An ageing population; Too few young people; Disadvantage; Health; and Rural Living.
ACT usual opening hours are: Monday to Thursday 9am - 4.15pm, and Friday 9am - 4.45pm.

A £6m Government investment has enabled England’s 38 rural community councils (RCCs) to pull in an additional £15m in funding, a new report has evaluated.
The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) commissioned the independent report to evaluate the first two years of a four-year agreement with Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE), the national umbrella body for RCCs.
