ACT is holding a series of events to explore the opportunities and challenges of this prestigious UNESCO award.
We have held a successful discussion on this topic already and we are now running a further four events as follows, all events will run from 4pm - 8pm:
Detailed programmes for each event will be available nearer the time. If you would like to reserve a place, please use the booking form to express your venue preference.
ACT is a member of the Lake District National Park Partnership, the body responsible for securing designation and working with UNESCO to maintain it. ACT's role is to champion the values of local communities and to feedback your suggestions to others in the Partnership.
These workshops will provide evidence to support the development of actions and funding streams to articulate what World Heritage Status actually means to Lake District communities over the next few years. We have been fortunate enough to secure funding from The Lake District Foundation and The RSA to have these conversations. Both organisations, like us, are very interested to understand the implications and views of the community on this important designation.
