ACT is holding a series of events to explore the opportunities and challenges of this prestigious UNESCO award.
We have held a successful discussion on this topic already and we are now running a further four events as follows, all events will run from 4pm - 8pm:

ACT is a member of the Lake District National Park Partnership, the body responsible for securing designation and working with UNESCO to maintain it. ACT's role is to champion the values of local communities and to feedback your suggestions to others in the Partnership.
These workshops will provide evidence to support the development of actions and funding streams to articulate what World Heritage Status actually means to Lake District communities over the next few years. We have been fortunate enough to secure funding from The Lake District Foundation and The RSA to have these conversations. Both organisations, like us, are very interested to understand the implications and views of the community on this important designation.

If you don’t know anything about World Heritage Status but want to know more, please join us and see if there is anything you would like to get involved with. If you have any misgivings, or even serious concerns, please don’t grumble at home – come and meet others, who may be able to work with you to address your concerns. If you are already capitalising on the opportunity and can share your enthusiasm and ideas then please come along.
